Poles discover a long-lost recording session

On a recent Sunday morning, Stasiek and I found ourselves sifting through our parents’ barn with fellow Pole Piotr. Though the focus of our search was a trunk full of the entire Godzilla movie collection, what we found instead is sure to stun the entire music industry.

A single, dusty, partially-cracked reel was labeled “Huey Armstro*** – a*dit**n.” (Some of the text was completely illegible.) We believe the reel to be a partial recording session made by the brother of a late iconic musician, though that theory has yet to be investigated.

Why the reel was never released to the public was obvious upon our first listen, as the controversial contents surely would have found little acceptance in the 1930s or 40s – the estimated time of recording. The exact details on how it ended up in our parents’ barn, though, remains a mystery.

Regardless, for the first time, the music can finally be heard and appreciated by a generation ready to hear the artist’s message. We provide the audio below, in original and digitally remastered versions.

Nothing will ever beat when “That’s what I’m talkin’ about…” comes in perfectly during Jerome’s beatboxing. Absolute magic.

Shocking how far ahead of his time this guy was.
